Paolo at The Fillmore New York

I was a bit disappointed when I wasn't able to get tickets to the Amy Winehouse and Paolo Nutini concert that was going to be at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park in September. Not only did tickets seem to be sold out when I checked online the day they went on sale, but I couldn't find anyone to go with me. Although there are all those free concerts at Rumsey Playfield during the summer, I've never been there, so I wasn't sure how safe it would be for me to leave there alone at night (and then there are those weirdos who talk to you sometimes).

When I found out that Winehouse had cancelled her US tour dates, I thought there might be a possibility that Nutini would instead tour on his own. I like both their music, but I like his songs more. So I was very happy when I learned that he was going to have a concert at the Fillmore New York at Irving Plaza in Manhattan. It was a second chance to get tickets to see him, and I was successful that time. (^__^) I also found someone to come along with me to make it more fun. :)

Opening act The Virgins:

It's blur-tacular!

Paolo:Times like this, I wish I had a better camera:
I didn't remember being this close. It seemed further back, but then maybe my perception was skewed because of all the taller people in front of me. I thought of wearing higher heels than I did, but, oh, my poor feet! (T_T) They still hurt even though the heels of my shoes weren't very tall, and actually, I still have a reminder of that in the form of a black-and-blue toenail. :( What we girls do for fashion...and to get a slightly better view at a concert. :P

See cell phone: we're taking the same picture. =)
(More photos can be seen on my Flickr.)

I really enjoyed the concert, and Paolo was great! After the show, I overheard someone talking on her cell phone, telling her friend thank you and that Paolo was her favorite now. After seeing him live, I also like him even more. :D

(This is my 100th post!)
